Project-Based Work

Website Design and Development services are provided on a “Project-Based Bid”.   We provide an estimate (proposal) after consultation meetings with you.  Once you accept our proposal, we begin work.  We invoice twice for Project-Based work:  50% is due upon the start of your project and the final 50% will be due upon completion (launch) of your website project.

Website projects (a redesign or brand new build) can vary greatly and can range anywhere between $5,000 and $15,000.   Send us a Project Request to get the conversation started.

Hourly Rates

Once your website project has been launched and is in our Managed WordPress Hosting plan, all requests will be completed within 24-48 hours, unless otherwise noted.   Hourly work is billed on the 15 minute increment, and invoiced at the end of each month.

  • Website Production Rate:  $120/hour
This is for basic website updates, such as adding content and images to existing layout and structure of the website.  Training sessions via zoom or in person and any consulting time is also billed at this rate.
  • Website Development Rate:  $150/hour
Any work that requires new coding or design work.   Examples of this type of work would be installing new functionality, whether through a plugin activation or with custom code (PHP, Javascript, CSS), or the addition of any new design elements.
  • Rush Rate: $220/hour
A rush rate is any request received on a weekend, holiday or after business hour, that requires an immediate turn-around.  Upon receipt of your request, we will confirm the implementation of a rush rate with you prior to starting work.

A Note about Estimates and Project-Based Bids

We pride ourselves on providing accurate and transparent estimates for all our projects. Our goal is to ensure that you have a clear understanding of the scope and costs involved before we begin. However, it’s important to recognize that web development projects can be complex, and there are several factors that may impact the final budget.

One of the primary reasons a project may exceed its initial budget is the evolving nature of technology and design requirements. As we work together, new opportunities or challenges may arise that weren’t anticipated at the outset. These could include the discovery of additional functionality that enhances your website, unexpected technical issues, or changes in project scope. While we do our best to plan for every scenario, these elements can sometimes lead to additional work, which in turn, can affect the overall cost.

Additionally, the project timeline and budget can be impacted by factors related to the organization and responsiveness of the client. For example, if content is not provided in a timely or organized manner, or if there are frequent requests for additional meetings, it can extend the duration of the project and require more resources than initially estimated. We understand that businesses are busy and things come up, but delays in decision-making, piecemeal delivery of content, or shifts in priorities can all contribute to unanticipated costs.

Furthermore, external factors such as third-party integrations, hosting environments, and platform updates are often beyond our control. These can introduce unforeseen complexities that require additional resources to address. Our commitment to quality means that we will always recommend the best solutions, even if they require more time and effort than originally anticipated.

We believe in maintaining open communication throughout the project to keep you informed of any changes that may impact the budget. If any adjustments are needed, we will discuss them with you promptly to ensure there are no surprises. Our priority is to deliver a website that meets your needs and exceeds your expectations, even if it means navigating a few unexpected challenges along the way.
